WHAT IS MASSAGE THERAPY?
Massage therapy is the manipulation of soft tissue manually. More information can be found on the 'what is massage therapy?' page.
WHAT HAPPENS BEFORE TREATMENT?
It is important that you complete the client information and patient history to the best of your ability at least 24 hours before treatment. You must ensure your animal is in a secure environment and safely secured (equine).
WHAT HAPPENS AFTER TREATMENT?
It is recommended that the animal does not complete any extensive exercise for the remainder of the day to feel the full effects of the treatment.
WHAT HAPPENS IF I NEED TO CANCEL MY APPOINTMENT?
Re-arranging your appointment must be done before 24 hours prior to the appointment. Any cancellation within 24 hours of appointment is subject to paying full price of appointment.
CAN I STAY WITH MY DOG DURING TREATMENT?
I have experienced better results when the owner is not present during treatment, however I understand each dog is different. I will require your assistance when performing the initial assessment. After the initial assessment, we will assess and discuss whether I require to to remain with your pet during treatment.
CAN I STAY WITH MY HORSE DURING TREATMENT?
I will require your assistance when performing the initial assessment. After the initial assessment, I may require you to hold your horse during certain parts of treatment so will require you to stay close by during the appointment.
HOW MANY TREATMENTS WILL MY ANIMAL REQUIRE?
This varies on the reason for the appointment. I usually see results within 3 sessions but the distance between appointments varies. This is something that will be discussed both prior and during the initial appointment.
DO I NEED VETERINARY CONSENT?
In short, if your animal has an injury/pathology that requires help from a massage therapist, you do require veterinary consent. If it is a maintenance treatment, or just a treat, and your animal does not have an injury/pathology, then no veterinary consent is required.You can find my veterinary consent forms on the 'veterinary consent' page. If you're not sure if you need veterinary consent, either contact your vet or myself.
HOW MUCH DOES EACH TREATMENT COST?
Prices vary between £30-£45. Please check the 'services and prices' page for a more accurate price, or alternatively, message or call me for a quote.
WHEN SHOULD ANIMAL MASSAGE THERAPY NOT BE PERFORMED?
Contagious diseases (kennel cough, gastrointestinal diseases, skin problems)
Cancers
Open wounds
If the pet is ill (high temperature)
Epilepsy
Broken or fractured bones

WHAT AREAS DO YOU COVER?
I cover a 20Â mile radius of Chelmsford, Essex. I do treat out of this area, but there is a 50p charge per mile over this radius.Â
